New institute joined COPICOH

The Institute for Medical Informatics (IMI) of the University of Lübeck became a member of COPICOH.

The scientific work of the Institute can be divided into following research areas:

•    Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in Medical Image Processing
•    4D image processing for computer aided diagnostics and therapy
•    Segmentation and pattern recognition in medical image data
•    Image registration and correspondence analysis
•    Image-based virtual reality simulation and modeling
•    eHealth - semantic data integration and analysis
•    Medical Data Science for Assistive Health Technologies

In the area of Medical Image Processing and Virtual Reality Simulation, image processing methods, algorithms and software systems for computer-aided diagnostics and therapy are developed. Typical eHealth applications support semantic integration and analysis, as well as the exchange of heterogeneous data from healthcare and medical research, e.g. translational research, health services research, but also inter-institutional care processes. In the context of Medical Data Science for Assistive Health Technologies, multimodal sensor data (e.g., from wearables) are analysed using Artificial Intelligence and machine learning methods in order to establish new sensor-based screening procedures, Ambient Assisted Living solutions, as well as to telemedically monitor the human health.
