ParkProTrain project for tele-rehabilitation

A new research project on rehabilitation of Parkinson's patients started in June. The consortium of ISE, IMIS, ITM will develop a tablet-based training program in the next three years and evaluate it in a clinical study in collaboration with the Neurological Center of the Segeberger Clinics for the possible improvement of the quality of life (PDQ-39).

Parkinson's is one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases in Germany, burdening the healthcare system with billions of euros annually. The innovative training concept is designed to support patients with physical-activating exercises in their daily lives. The adaptation of the exercise program is based on the telemedical evaluation in an administration panel ("cockpit") by physiotherapists in Bad Segeberg.
