The specialist group "Communication and Distributed Systems" of the Society for Informatics awards the prize for the best dissertation of 2020 to Dr. Florian Lau from the Institute of Telematics at the University of Lübeck. He is being honored for his work entitled "DNA-based Nanonetworks."
The award ceremony will take place on September 15, 2021, at the Division's online conference "Networked Systems 2021". Dr. Lau is working on nanodevices, very small devices that can be freely deployed in the bloodstream of the human body without causing damage there. They could be used to solve complex medical problems, such as the pinpoint release of drugs in the human body during chemotherapy.
At NetSys2021, Dr. Florian Lau presented his research in a video.
