The Institute for Multimedia and Interactive Systems (IMIS) was founded on February 1, 1997. It is part of the Computer Science and Engineering section of the University of Luebeck.
The research staff and methods of the IMIS are strongly interdisciplinary. In addition to the foundations in computer and information sciences, the emphasis is on psychology, pedagogics, social sciences as well as design and art aspects of digital media.
